Reverse osmosis is a membrane process that has the capability of separating mineral salts from water. The water is pressurized and pumped through a membrane that removes 95% to 99% of the total dissolved minerals. Reverse Osmosis plants purify brackish sea water, municipal, deep wells and industrial wastes.
